These works are made from forging a flat piece of 18 gauge copper over a stake. The process takes hours and sometimes days to get to the desired shape. After the copper is formed then each piece is sifted with powdered glass we call enamel. The piece is then fired in a kiln at 1,500 degrees. This process can take up to 10-15 firings to get the coloration which makes each piece on of a kind.

Building a piece begins with a simple sketch. My work is sculptural in process, using additive and subtractive techniques. My bench is full of parts and pieces that I can pull from for my designs.
